The URA is re-releasing a requesg for proposals after its previouslychosen developer, Urban Villages working with Botero Development decidedx not to go forward with the project. Urbanj Villages and Botero were selected over oneother finalist, S&s Homes, in partnership with the Lawrencevillew Corporation, a community nonprofit. The football field-sized parcelk includes the site on which the office buildingb for the Heppenstall plant once was located as well as a formefwarehouse property. In a prepared statement, mayorf Luke Ravenstahl describedthe property’s redevelopmenrt as an important part of the city’s largert revisioning of the Alleghenty riverfront.
“We have begun a planninf process to create a vision for the Allegheny riverfront and reconnect our neighborhoods to ournaturalk amenities,” he said.
