Compass Airlines cuts ribbon on Louisville maintenance facility - Pittsburgh Business Times:

The subsidiary opened the three-bay maintenance facilityh in January but held off on the ribbonb cutting until key personnel were andthey “got a little airplane greasde under their nails,” Compass president Tim Campbell said durinhg a news conference. Compass’ 70 employees maintain the airline’s fleet of 36 Embraer 175 76-seat jets. which was founded in 2006 as a subsidiary of Northwest Airlines was acquired by Delta as part ofthe Atlanta-based carrier’ws merger with Northwest in Octobedr 2008. The jets previously had been servicec bya third-party aircraft maintenance company, Campbellp said.
Compass’ Louisville International Airport facility, locates at 5101 Crittenden Drive, consists of 42,7290 square feet of aircraft hangar space, 11,41 square feet of office, shop and storag e space, an 80,601-square-foot concrete apron and 33,480 square feet of parkingt and roadways. At the news conference, Chantilly, Va.-based Compass showedf off its first jet paintec in theDelta colors. The rest of its fleet will be convertee from Northwest Airlines colors over thenext year, Campbellp said. At the news Kentucky Gov.
